Hyundai Tucson: Multifunction Switch Inspection
Hyundai Tucson - Fourth generation (NX4) - (2020-2023) - Workshop Manual / Body Electrical System / Rear Wiper Washer / Multifunction Switch Inspection
- Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position as shown below.
Inspection (With Diagnostic Tool)
- In the body electrical system, failure can be quickly diagnosed by using
the vehicle diagnostic system (diagnostic tool).
The diagnostic system (diagnostic tool) provides the following information.
(1) Fault Code Searching : Checking failure and code number (DTC)
(2) Data Analysis : Checking the system input/output data state
(3) Actuation test: Checking the system operation condition
(4) S/W Management: Controlling other features including system option setting and zero point adjustment
- If diagnose the vehicle by diagnostic tool, select "DTC Analysis" and "Vehicle".
- If check current status, select the "Data Analysis" and "Car model".
- Select the 'IBU_BCM' to search the current state of the input/output data.
Inspection
- With the washer motor connected to the reservoir tank, fill the reservoir tank with water.
WARNING
Before filling the reservoir tank with water, check the filter for foreign material or contamination, if necessary, clean the filter.
- Connect positive (+) and negative (-) battery cables to terminals 3 and 1 respectively to see that the washer motor runs and water is pumped.
- Check that the motor operates normally.
Replace the motor if it operates abnormally.
Removal
WARNING
- Provides a service position for blade removal with hidden rear wiper.
- The position of the wiper blade service position operates front and rear.
- After starting OFF, hold the MIST switch for 2 seconds.
WARNING
- Perform the operation within 20 seconds after starting OFF.
- The wipers rotate 0.7s and move to the service position.
- Remove the wiper blade (A) by pulling it in the direction of the arrow.
Installation
- Istall the wiper blade.
- When the wiper MIST is activated after starting ON, the wiper returns to its original position.
